Friday 5th June 2015 - Hadrian's Wall of Sound, part of the first BBC Music Day

BBC Music Day 2015 logoThis will happen live as part of the first BBC Music Day, which is a chance for the BBC to celebrate the wide range of music they offer across radio, TV and online.

Hadrian's Wall of Sound will start at Bowness-on-Solway (which is where the Wall started on the west coast). Then during the day the BBC will work with as many different music and community groups as they can to relay music along the Wall, in a similar way to the baton being passed on during the Olympic Torch Relay. This will involve a wide range of people from different ages and many different community groups from across the region. Hadrian's Wall of Sound will journey down Westgate Road in Newcastle and eventually onto the Quayside where Drummed Up will be playing, before the BBC's barge will leave and sail to Segedunum Roman Fort in Wallsend.

The location on the Quayside will be roughly outside the Pitcher and Piano (next to the Millennium Bridge, opposite the Baltic) and we will need to be set up for 4.30pm in order to play live at approximately 5pm. We will be playing for at least 20 minutes and then one of us will pass the baton on to the boat ready for it to leave at about 5.30pm.
